Kong is great for preventing separation anxiety Used Kongs with both of my dogs and they love them. Can stuff with one cookie or many little treats and some peanut butter. It takes them time to work on getting the treats and they forget about you leaving them alone. Sometimes I think they are happy to see me go! haha.
Great idea for chewers! I have livestock guardian dogs that need things to chew on and add a little stimulation.I tried buying bones but they chew those up in a matter of seconds or they bury them and forget about them.These large Kongs are perfect since they spend hours chewing.I fill mine with peanut butter kibble egg boiled or raw and a bit of molasses.
Kong Products Are Not Worth It Every Kong product is not worth the price. My 2 year old black lab can rip them apart in 5 minutes or less. They are just a cheap rubber product. I have learned my lesson. Go with Nylar products.
LOVE IT!! I bought a large kongy 14 years ago for my first Rottie and he really didnt care for it much. I even bought the Xlarge and nothing. He was more a tennis ball boy. When I got my new baby 6 years ago and he discovered what fun constantly bringing it to momma could be he became obsessed. He LOVES IT! The only problem with that is he is now on a diet..lol..
Dog Loves It My dog young golden retriever loves this thing. Stick some treats or peanut butter inside and watch him go nuts. Even better freeze it and he'll spend a good 3045 minutes trying to get all the good stuff out. He'll sometimes play with the kong if it's empty but for the most part he's only interested if there is something inside. The best part is that I don't have to worry about him tearing the thing apart or eating the actual kong it seems pretty indestructible for your average dog.
Indestructible Toy! I clicked on the small size of this kong. I have both a large one and a small one. Our Golden Retriever absolutely destroys his toys very quickly. This toy is a godsend as it is quite a hard and thick rubber toy. It does have a somewhat strong rubbery smell at first but that dispates over time and still it's awesome! Put a big enough/wide enough treat in the bottom one that won't just fall out one your dog can work to eventually get out. When it's just empty and I toss it indoors on the hard floor or a hard floor to a carpeted area it bounces and then rolls a good distance so he can chase it scoop it up comfortably in his mouth and bring it back to you. He has had this toy for 2 years now and it it still in its original form with only minor teeth marks on the outside because he can't sink his teeth through it. The outer plastic is that hard but smoothe so it doesn't get rough rigidsharplike edges you have to grab when you throw it! My dog seriously destroys his toys so quickly its no fun to play with those toys for more than a very short period of time but this Kong toy is really indestructible and rocks! Yes you can put peanut butter in the bottom of this toy and it keeps him busy but do it outside so there's no possibility of small dabs of peanut butter anywhere. It's such a great toy a great investment and at a great price! The large kong has a screw on bottom cap and holds cheerios nicely. It will hold small bite size treats too as the hole isn't big enough on the side to put large ones in there. Obviously it's not a chew toy. They can and will try picking it up but I think it's heavy for them and they drop it and just wait for treats to be put in it.
Durable toy a must have to entertain your dog! The large Kong Dog Toy is excellent for my 4 month old 40lb teething puppy he quickly outgrew the puppy sized one. Sometimes I fill it with peanut butter and treats but often times he just likes to play with it without any treats inside. He picks it up and drops it and when it falls it bounces unpredictably keeping him entertained trying to jump along after it. It is virtually indestructible for my labradoodle if you have a really serious chewer you may need the black Kong.
Yorkie Poo loves her toy My 4 year old Yorkie Poo gets excited when I put a little food in her toy. She is a finicky eater and I have succeeded in having her eat some of her dog food by placing in the Kong toy. We have added a Yorkie Poo puppy to our family so I am ordering him the same toy.. Great product.
Not Puppy proof This lasted all of 2 minutes with my puppy. I would never buy this again. They say this is for an average chewer. If that's the case then I must have a chewer that is off the charts! I'm looking for advice on what really is a durable dog toy that will hold up to a puppy.
Fun dog toy great for treats and peanut butter. I have a female pitty she loves this toy. When I take the kong out of her toy basket she lights up like a Christmas tree because she knows I am going to stuff treats of peanut butter in it. If she is being a pest I can put a couple treats in this thing and she will go to town for 30 minutes trying to get the food out of it. The only downside is there is a crumb trail around the house haha. Fun toy though.
