Destroyed the second time I gave it to my dog My dog is not a particularly heavy chewer she's 8 months old so she does chew but she hasn't destroyed anything but soft toys before. I gave her this Funny Bone Dog Toy and she managed to get it apart the bone part screws into the purple oval that holds the chews and gnaw down the screw end so it can't be reassembled. While she really seemed to like it when a moderate chewer can do this I don't think it's a toy that will work for any dedicated chewers and it wasn't cheap.
Good toy but depends on your dog My dog gnawed off the exposed meat in several minutes and when she could no longer get the remains she just walked off. I'm sure if you have a dog that is really persistant it will be more fun and active but for her it was a treat for a few minutes and then forgotten about. My tiny 5 lb pom liked it though despite the fact that it's almost as big as he is. He took it when my terrier was done stripping off the meat and licked it and guarded it. For him it would be awesome if it were his size but I didn't buy if for him I bought it for the terrier. All in all I don't regret spending 9 bucks on a good toy and I will buy the refills but I will know better the next time I buy Layla a toy.
Premier Busy Buddy Funny Bone Dog Toy WOW This toy is great! Our Labrador just took it and laid down on the rug with her eyes closed and chewed for about an hour. She was in ecstasy. Then when she got done I took the remnants out and give her those as a treat but I waited a bit and she had fun chewing on the Nylon bone end bits for quite a long time. She loves me more now.
Dog will not touch it. I purchased this bone for my dog as it had received pretty good reviews and wanted something that would keep him busy for a little while. He won't touch it. He has sniffed it but will not pick it up or even lick it. The material it is made of is way too hard and scares him if you drop it on the floor. He wasn't interested in the treat inserts either.
Don't bother I have purchased several of these large chew bones. Busy Buddy has held up the best. I purchased 2 of these and only one snapped. The problem is that we only used it 3 times. If you buy use quickly. I waited because I was rationing chew toys and now they don't have an option for me to replace the broken one. It might have been defective but I won't know because the rule in our house is one for each.
not satisfied I had highhopes for this toy. First it is loud. Really loud on my tile and laminate. I thought it was rubber or some soft material. But its not.Second it only accepts this brands specific treats. Unlike say the squirrel Guy which you can put almost anything into.Third my dog figured out that she doesn't have to gnaw on the treats. She can just pull really hard and they come loose. So now the toy lasts all of 2mins. And now I'm worried she is just swallowing them whole.I would look elsewhere for keep em busy toy.
Best Toy EVER! I bought this toy for my Cavalier King Charles dogs along with other toys from this brand. I knew they liked the bristle bone toy. This one kept them busy ALL day !! I ordered another so they each have one.
Best Thing Out There I have a mutt that I adopted from the city shelter. She loves her stuffed animals but was never really into chew toys. She would eat the peanut butter out of her kong spend a little while chewing antlers or gnaw on a marrow bone for a bit. She likes rawhides but I hate giving her that all the time as a chew toy. I took the chance with this toy and I have not been disappointed.
My dogs love this toy I have two German Shorthair pointers and they can be very destructive with their toys. They LOVE this toy and while there are a lot of chew marks on it they have yet to destroy it have had it for over two months. I really like the way I can add treats to it and they have to work to get the treat. A bit pricy but since it lasts and the treat part is renewable I highly recommend.
not for agressive chewers Our oneyearold golden retriever is a very tough chewer. She really enjoys the gnawhide treats contained by the funny bone but she bites them off in chunks so we have to really watch her when she plays with it. If your dog can bite pieces off maybe consider leaving the treats off. Once she has the treats chewed down flush with the center blue piece it keeps her occupied well without too much worry. I emailed the company and asked them if chewing the center would compromise the toy's ability to hold the treats and they said yes at that point you would need to buy a whole new toy. Generally durable but not for the most aggressive chewers.
