Great balanced diet for pooch who loves his proteins ..., After chewing through sacks of RC Mini 27s and Medium 25s through puppyhood, my spoodle (11kg) now unequivocally refuses to touch them...the local pet store suggested I tried the Poodle 30 - well it works ...with some compromise.
My pooch is a protein lover and I am guessing the higher protein content better appeases his taste buds. Royal Canin nourishes his hair and people have mentioned how lovely and soft his coat is (though I have seen shinier) and keeps him active, healthy and alert with the ability to focus and concentrate when I interact with him - or perhaps that's just his nature. He is good natured and temperate. Mealtimes is still a negotiation and I've found perhaps the 30 is a bit rich for him and he sometimes gags or throws up (melodrama). So I just add a little bit of rice and chicken in to moisten the meal. That seems to work.
Avoid this and other products containing corn and soy fillers!, It is loaded with fillers such as corn and soy which is NOT a healthy product for a dog, since most dogs have allergies to corn. We just switched him to WELLNESS and he loves it. He has less stool volume and his allergies have subsided. I highly recommend Wellness over Royal Canin and it is in the same price range.
Royal Canin = Excellent Nutrition with Scientific studies to..., ....back up their claims. Beware the argument that corn and other cereal products are "useless fillers" when used in pet foods. Royal Canin has a wonderful page on their website [...] that explains why these arguments are not valid at best and downright misleading at worst. Beware Brands that tout themselves as "Holistic". If you research holistic medicine and it's nutritional analogs you will find that they do not hold up under rigorous scientific scrutiny. To be blunt about it most claims of "holism" ect..
Royal Canin Rocks!, Royal Canin Poodle Food is an excellent product. I breed toy poodles and they love it! From puppies, their Champion mother and my oldtimer, everybody loves this food. Weight is easily maintained, their coats are thick and healthy and teeth stay clean. The shape and size of the food is excellent and even my elderly, toothless girl crunches it down.
